Barcone’s Music started in Italy in the late 1800s and was centered around a commitment to the music industry.
Henry Barcone was in business from 1920-1960. He immigrated to the United States and played in pit orchestras for silent movies and circuses. He started music education in the NYC Public Schools, as well as Long Island.
Ben Barcone was in the music industry from 1948-1985. In 1948, with a loan of 40 instruments from his father, he formed Empire Music Company in Woodstock, New York.
From 1965 until he passed in 2013, Tim Barcone, Sr. had been the continuation of the business. He worked at Empire Music from 1965-1971 before forming Barcone’s Music. He was the principle technician for many professional muscians including Dave Sanborn, Jack DiJonette, David “Fathead” Newman, and many more!
Tim Barcone, Jr. is the 5th generation and continues in his family’s tradition of musical excellence. Tim is the shop foreman, who specializes in brass and string repairs.
