Janice Barcone


Janice started the business in 1976 with her husband, the late Tim Barcone Sr. When Mrs. Barcone is not in the store she enjoys painting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Tim Barcone

Shop Foreman

Specializing in brass and strings, Tim is carrying on the 5th generation of family involvement. He serves as shop foreman and repair tech in the shop. In addition to teaching repair to his employees at the shop, he also coaches his son’s baseball and football teams.

Carla Newsome

General Manager, Woodwind Specialist

Mrs. Newsome joined the Barcone team in 2012. Originally from Orange County, NY, Carla holds her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Fredonia in music education. She teaches clarinet privately, plays in various local ensembles, and is the orchestra manager at the Woodstock Playhouse. Carla is proud to work with her husband, Sam, and for the benefit of their poodles, Shelby and Daytona.

James Camardello

Woodwind Technician

A native of upstate New York, Jim comes from a background of instrumental repair and service. In his spare time he is also an expert in stone masonry.

Sam Newsome

Brass Technician

Mr. Newsome first started learning the trade of instrument repair in 1999 thanks to Tim Barcone. Sam is a part-time brass instrument repair technician, a full-time band director at New Paltz High School, and a working professional musician who has played with masters of funk, jazz, rock, orchestral, and concert band styles of music. Sam is proud to work with his wife, Carla, and for the benefit of their poodles, Shelby and Daytona.

Erika Robinson

String Performance & Sales Specialist /Digital Content Consultant

Ms. Robinson joined our team most recently after relocating to Kingston from NYC. Originally from South Carolina, Erika has been playing cello for over 15 years with education from the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music.

Richard Drao


Mr. Drao has 40 years in the repair and restorations of violins, bows, and all string instruments professionally and as a hobby. For the past 15 years he has been working in this field full time after a career in mathematical engineering and architecture.

Noah Pomerselig

String/Brass Technician

Noah has been with the Barcone’s team for 5 years. Noah recently completed his Bachelor’s degree from SUNY New Paltz in Music, and is currently continuing his graduate work in Music Therapy. In addition to working on brass and string repairs, Noah can also be found hiking or out on the Wallkill river in his canoe!
